Default Quick question regarding UV CCs.

I have bought them before only to have them die in a month or two.
I just ordered 2 new sets of 2 12" tubes.
Is there a way to avoid an early death with these or have I just been unlucky?
Thanks.

I'd like to know as well... I have had my GREEN cathode tubes out of my PC for a month or so, and I went to hook them up last night, and they are only lighting up 1/2 way... Not sure if its a problem with the inverter or the tube, but I was kinda dissappointed... Im 100% sure the inverter is getting a good 12v supply.

Needless to say, Ive got new ones on the way.

Mine haven't lasted anymore than 6 months. I've been through my fair share. I think the best way is to turn them off maybe when your not using them? Of course, over the coruse of time, they just might not turn back on (happened before), so I really don't know.

They are all just cheaply made and are meant to die.

It seems that the housings on most of the inverters have extremely poor airflow resulting in them overheating and dying. One solution seems to have the inverters open air outside the box. When the tubes only glow part way that's either a sign of a bad inverter or (if the wires between the inverter and cathodes have been extended) that the wiring is too long.

Yup new brand for me. I have my new power supply which should be very high quality.
I might try putting a little fan on the inverter, see if it helps at all.
2 months seems very poor to me
Will have to make some kind of LED loom if these die again.

my ccfls usually die in 2-3 months of 24/7 usage. so i stopped using them
so, hooray for led tubes/ led fans, ive had those over 3 years of 24/7 usage!
