Weld-On for Acrylic locally?
Anyone know what stores sell IPS Weld On products?
I never did the crazy glue thing (from my other thread) so if I can get some weld on today in-hand that would be great. If not, will two-part Epoxy work? They have that at most hardware stores. (need to bond two pieces of cast acrylic to each other) thanks in advance for any info

I'm not sure what stores would carry the solvent cements for acrylic; but I do know that Lowe's (and probably Home Depot) stock a glue for Acrylic/Lexan, since the joint will be hidden it wouldn't be a major deal if it doesn't look perfect.

They should have it where they stock the acrylic and lexan sheeting.

they had a general purpose glue that dries clear, and bonds pretty much anything including pvc, plastics, etc - so I got that. Along with a 16" scroll saw - muha

home depot in my area does not stock IPS Weld On products. i did not check lowes.
but what could be a possible solution (this is what i did), i looked int he phone book for plastic shops. found aplace that did fabrication and design, custom displays, and stuff. called them and they had both IPS weld on 3 and 4! same price bought online! except without the deadly shipping! woot! they had the applicators too! win! good luck to you!

 Imho I would go with a "welding" product as opposed to a "bonding" product. There are some 2-part expoxies that are really good, but for longevities sake I would use #16 for laminating, and Weld-on #3 for capillary bonding. For all intents and purposes the 2 pieces become 1 at a molecular level.

yep, thanks Syr, I just need one piece to stand on another an not tip over is all. I think the glue I got will be ok. I will be getting some capillary stuff down the line as I do more acrylic work, starting with parts of The Intelligence that will require it. Btw, replaced Scroll Saw, test cut pics in Gumdrop Thread

I know a place in my town though not yours but i could give you to places to look they both have it in stock here
CA USA local hobby store Or a high End Fish store (A pet store that only sells Fish stuff will have it for sure at the lest they can order it) mines called the shark tank and they build tanks so they even had choose in brands
