It will work fine, just drill a smaller hole then drill the proper size hole. The drill will work, you'll just have to go slow is all...

How big of a hole are you drilling?? I have those bits i think The big ones will pull hard, definitely step it up and still be careful cause again the big ones pull alot. almost like screws

that drill should be find provided you aren't making 2+ inch holes...
get a good bit/holesaw too... expect to run the battery down a time or two... You can always save up and buy the big toys... ![]()

If you look at the link, by the pci slots, you can see the little bit with all the holes in it and that's where I'm drilling these. I'll be using the pre-drilled holes. EDIT: a little off topic, but if I could only get one tool to help me modify my case in the future, which would be better: a drill or a dremel?

try a step bit which is made for sheet metal and the further you sink it in the bigger the hole it is kinda like a cone......when i say it is all about the bit i mean make sure your bit is sharp ...a dull bit will put up a fight... and make sure you drill in the metal straight because you will break the bit if it is small enough....if you want you can get a spring loaded metal or leather punch and it will make a small "dibbet " in the metal where you want to drill so that you but does not ...."run away" from the spot you want the hole to be at

Your 9v will work, thats what size my drill is. But as mentioned before, you'll probably drain the battery at least once or twice.
I suggest a good corded drill, I need one myself. Not as convenient, but much more power, and no waiting on batteries to charge. ![]() I would also say a good dremel is better than the drill. Many more uses. ![]()

Make sure the torque setting is set to the highest, either 5, 10 or the drill icon.
My 9.6v can drill through 1.2mm of steel without any problems.
