A dremel, sideways bit and a circle-cutting attachment would do it.

But, see if you can borrow a hole-saw bit as that will also get the job done.

Would you be able to post a pic of the inside of the panel-wall that shows the clear pieces.

since they are not one, it may not be such a good idea to cut the metal....

Note the first post, he does not want that due to the fact that it might disrupt airflow since it is so large.
I wouldn't recommend modding a window, since you might mess up and ruin it. I'd just buy the panel if I were you, it won't disrupt airflow that bad.

Okay, ...so you think big-fan is too big.

Have you built stuff before? Used power tools? (no offense, just trying to get an understanding).

A hole-saw would be costly, perhaps you could borrow one?

If it is your first time using such an implement, then I would either practice or get someone that is experienced to help. Hole-saws can be violently agressive, but that has a lot to do with the drill that it is attached to.

A rotary tool like the Dremel is another way to go, but once again I would see if you could borrow one as well as the required attachments.

Well, I did build this computer . I've never used power tools on a daily basis, but I've seen people use them and I know how sensitive some drills can be. I could probably find a hole-saw somewhere at one of my parents' stores; they've always done remodeling to their stores.

Well... imho you might want to consider what xHassassin stated about messing it up....

just a consideration.

But, if you do decide to cut on the case, post back as there are several things you may want to do to ensure a clean and safe mod.

A 4-1/2" hole-saw is the size to fit a 120mm fan.

Hey bro. I have the aluminum version of the armor it did not come with the fan side panel. I purchased it separately. And I actually replaced the plexi with 1/8" fluorescent blue acrylic. Though it may appear that it would disrupt air flow. It in fact does not. My cpu temps dropped 5 degrees celcius. As far as cutting on the case, hell, go for it. This is how we learn in life. Just be careful. There are more side panels. There is only one you.

Yeah, that's also one reason I want to do this, for the experience. Well, I'm pretty sure I can find a hole-saw bit tomorrow, when I go to work. But, it's probably only going to be about 1 1/2" (for door knobs). Is there any way to make a hole 4 1/2" with that? And, what else do I need to do in order to make a clean hole?
