Be careful not to spill and make sure it has an indentation where moisture can slide down into(like a coaster)

CustomGamer: My idea is similar to yours but different in that there will be no cutting of the case: instead, the flat top of the cooler will be touching the underside of the top panel, and the cooler will be set in foam inside a gutted CD-ROM drive with no top. The USB cord will be routed through the case and pop out a card slot opening to the I/0 ports. Included is a picture.

The only problem with this setup is that chillers do not "make cold" they just move heat from one spot to another (and generate more heat in the process). Your case temps WILL go up as the heat from the can is pulled into the case. Make sure you account for that and put in some more case fans if necessary.

Yes, I was thinking of putting two little fans where the exhaust comes out so the hot air is blown out the drive bay

That would probably suffice. A friend has one of the USB beverage chillers, and it doesn't cool that well. It's slow, partially due to the low wattage, partially due to the very small surface area contact between the plate and the ring on the bottom of the can. Lapping the can is probably out of the question...

Also, with the USB bit, I can't remember which company makes them but you can get a PCI card that has 4 external and one internal USB hub. I had one back in the day.
