With my Aluminus, I decided I won't do the turbine mod just because this is my first mod and I want it more simple.
I was thinking 2-3 of these: http://www.petrastechshop.com/12yalod1redl.html , one in the front, one in the back, and either a blow hole up top or the Scythe Kama Bay in the front. Opinions on which I should do? I also wanted to use one of these: http://www.mnpctech.com/moddersmesh.html and paint them red for the front bezel. Which one should I use? Besides the red Yates and the 1 80mm for the side window, I was going to use dual white cold cathodes and use trim on the fan holes. http://www.mnpctech.com/CaseFeet.html Those case feet look a lot nicer than the stock ones too. Painting the inside of the case black, and the mesh red is the only thing I am unsure about. Do I just get plain regular sandpaper, sand it, prime it, then paint? I heard you have to use some kind of special paint for the mesh, that true?

*The Yates are good fans. Not a problem there, thats actually the fan I used for my turbine build. One in the front as intake and a back exhaust (possible blowhole) as well are both do-able. Theres also a mod how-to hanging around this forum on putting a 120mm fan in your drive bay (if you would rather DIY than buy the kama bay) Either mesh will work, just comes down to which one you like better. ![]() Paint. It's simple, not as hard as people make it out to be. Clean your parts (I think the mesh might have an oil coating to prevent rust. I think.), prime, sand, paint. That's it. Regular sandpaper (320-400 grit) will work and regular spray paint, although most of us use automotive stuff from what I see. Go to any Autozone, etc and grab some high build primer (thats what I prefer, others use etching primer) and whatever color coat you like. Then as i said, sand the parts to rough them up so the primer will have something to stick to. Clean them, prime them, sand the primer (to make it smooth, remove any lumps/hairs/junk you might have got in it) then spray your color coat. Many light coats are better than a few heavy coats, this keeps the paint even and prevents drips/runs. I hope some of that will help! ![]()

This is my case: http://www.slcentral.com/ultra_alumi...full_tower.jpg I was thinking kama bay because it would show the Red LED really well through the mesh (mesh is going where the plastic ridges currently are like the mnpctech mod). Would a blow hole help with cooling better than a front 120mm though? I've seen someone do a turbine on my case, but it looks extremely complicated.

I have seen that case now. Yea a Kama bay would show the lights well in that case. But as I posted before, there is a guide here on OCN about cutting some of the cd drive covers and making your own kama bay. I suppose that would be weighed in with if you want to spare some time and cd drive covers or the money for the kama, lol.Blowhole vs front intake. I'm not sure, I'm doing a blowhole in my current log (Sanguineus in the sig) and it's my first one. So I can't comment on how much it would improve over the front intake. Perhaps you should post in the air cooling section and say what your planning on doing, as far as fans, and ask if the blowhole would be a benefit. ![]()
