Default Ideas for acrylic case

Sup all,

For my summer project I really want to build my own case..

The only modding I have done so far was paint my TT Armor so please bear with me here lol.

The case will be made from acrylic.. have not decided if I want to use a color or stick with clear.
I am attempting to make 2 thermal zones. Each zone having ??1x120MM fan on the front. Bottom zone will be HD's, PSU, ROM Drives. Top zone will have Mobo and such. I also want to make the top of the case easily removable or possibly hinged.

Im at work right now and this is a basic sketch of what I am trying to accomplish.

Basically looking for ideas/suggestions.. I am trying to learn Google Sketchup so I can do a more realistic mock up more to specifications. But I plan on making the case about 1 inch wider than the MOBO (Access for wires) and than fitting everything into the bottom zone based of the size of the mobo.

You might want to check out Syrillian/Gir's Techstation log. The overall design seems very similar to what Girface had Syrillian build him.

Yea thats quite close Thanks!

I am looking to make the case completally closed in.. my house is almost 130 years old so theres a big dust factor to weigh in... So I figure a 120mm fan for each level..

You're not as well known yet

But your another goto guy, you're very knowledgeable in many things from the posts I've seen. (not to say Syrillian is dumb about anything except acrylic either) lol

Ill tell ya.. looking around more I found.. http://www.overclock.net/cyberdruidp...erstation.html

Thats about as close of a 3d visual as you can get until I learn how to use google sketchup lol

Basically I need mine fully enclosed and air cooled with filters.. but overall thats about what I imagined my case to look like lol

You will need exhaust fans. Also, I'd go for a semi-transparent color. It'll help hide your cables as well as let you see the parts.
