Well, I've decided it's time to go out with the old and in with the new.
__________________My 8400GS and power supply are going away in exchange for a better power supply and a 9600GT. In the process of changing PSU's and GPUs, I want to do something to totally revitalize my case, as I've become bored looking at it. Too much blue! I'm thinking of sleeving the cables of the new psu in either chrome cable sleeving or maybe some yellow sleeving. On top of that, I'm thinking of painting the inside of my case. Here's what it looks like right now: ![]() I'm definitely going to be changing out the LED fans for a different color but cannot decide on what color to use. The only thing that has to remain in place is the 120mm red LED fan in the front. If I knew anything about wiring and changing LED's, I would also change the LEDs on the front of the case to a different color. Some more pics to ponder: ![]() ![]() The catch: Everything I buy must be available at a store near me like Fry's etc. I don't want to wait for shipping. And I have $40 total to work with. Throw me some ideas. I do plan to spend the $8 or 9 dollars its going to cost to get a hole saw to better hide cables behind motherboard tray, so don't count that in the cost.

Just pick up a pair of CCFL lights. If you're tired of the blue then grab some red or green ones, either color look sick inside a black case.
__________________edit: Also if you don't like the led's in the front of the case there are guides everywhere that show you step by step how to change an led, including which leds to use and how to solder 'em and everything else you need to know. If you have a soldering iron I'd try it, its really not that hard to change led's and after you have some practice at it it only gets easier.

$8 or $9 for a hole saw? What world do you live in? I peg a good hole at a minimum of $20. As for your case, replace your clear window with a colored one, and cap your fans with a grill from mnpctech.com. Better yet I just made a thread on how to make your own..... here.

Thats just how much I have set aside to do it with. and also, how would i change the color of the window? shouldnt be that difficult. i was actually thinking of getting somy vinyl from mnpctech and maybe doing a flame job and changing the LED's in the front from blue to yellow

I just think anything over $40 is a waste since I can buy a new case for around that or a little extra. Matter of fact, I have a black mid atx case in my garage thats never had anything installed in it.

I would suggest not using a hole saw. On my previous case, I cut a 80mm hole in the door for intake, and a 120mm hole on top for exhaust. the first hole took 1 hour to cut all the way through, maybe 3mm thick. the second hole, took less than 5 minutes with a power drill to start, and a jigsaw to cut. of course, both holes had to be sanded to remove burrs and such.

Thinking about running some flex tubing inside the case and getting a longer round IDE cable for my optical. I think chrome looks nice. Seems to me that light coming from my LED fans would reflect off of the chrome and look real neat.

Drill a hole in the top side of the case, preferably near the front
Make sure you sandpaper the hole, and then put some U rubber over it to avoid sharp edges. Put some grease around the newly drilled hole, and then screw your computer, screw it hard. Maybe install some UV lights and turn em up to indicate that your computer is also excited.
