Ok, I brought my Cosmos S's side panel to work to make a clear panel. I was kind of in a rush to leave, so I hurried up and screwed the side in, after being careful all day not to scratch it. I didn't notice that I over tightened a screw and made a dipple in the panel. I just bought the case 2 weeks ago, so I'm kind of pissed (at myself).
__________________So, here's the question... Does anyone have any suggestions for how to fix it? Its not that bad, but I'm real anal when it comes to things like this. I was going to try to bang it out, but I'll just end up making it worse. I was thinking about just overtightening all of the screws, so it will match, but I'm not sure I actually want to do that. I also dont want to spend $100 on a new one. I think I might have to live with it. So, what do you think? ![]() ![]() I haven't done any cable management yet since I want to sell all my 939 stuff soon, so dont flame me ![]() ![]()

If you can, take the panel off and the window back out.
Take a dolly and a hammer and hammer it out. The dolly can be anything that will fit on the backside of the dent and is flat, a piece of wood, block or metal, etc. Now, IMPORTANT part is to cover the front (where the bulge is poking out) with a towel or something to keep the hammer from scratching it. Now, GENTLY tap over the spot a few times and have a look. Keep this up until you've slowly hammered it back smooth. You can get it back flat, but you have to be gentle with it. ![]()

hmmm that's a tough one. I don't think a little dent like that wil come out...sort of like hail damage on a car.
About all I can think of is to just drill it out, fill the hole with puddy/bondo, and then sand and paint the spot to match the rest of the case.

Hardly noticeable
![]() If it really bothers you then what repo_man said is perfect but I recommend putting it on wood for the backside of the dent, so you don scratch it. ~B~

I was thinking I had some plexi left, so I could use a few peices to build up the back (might be easier and less forgiving than wood). I'll have to find a ball-peen hammer or something... Thanks guys

Its barely noticeable, yet unrepairable... Aluminum stretches really easy. Pounding flat will only make it look worse. You would need to shrink the aluminum as you leveled the surface.

I'd suggest putting a block of wood on both sides then clamp it in a vice to compress it flat.

Good thinking. But I do agree with Kinzee. I fear that If I try to fix it I may make it look worse or even crack the spot since it has already been stressed.
