A week or two ago I picked up a huge, old computer case that I'm going to mod the *&^# out of. If you want to see some pics they're in another post called "finding a cheap case" or something like that. Anyways, I was planning to rearrange the inside of the case so that the motherboard was towards the top and the power supply was on the bottom (the original structure is the opposite). Yesterday I went to rivet the different parts where I wanted them and found that the mother board doesn't fit on the top next to the dvdr cage. Its close to fitting, but about an inch too close. I was hoping someone might have some advice on how to rearrange things so they'd fit better? Plus, I'm always open to new suggestions on a another layout.

Yes, image(s) would help immensely.
perhaps you could flip the case over (BTX-style)?

Thanks for finding the pic for me! (feelin kind of lazy today) And yes I have two other cases I can use for parts, so really anything is an option. The smallest case I have is a few inches longer, so I was going to see (in about 5 minutes) if I can use the top/bottom from the small-longer case for the top/bottom of the large-short case...(hope that makes sense?)

if your really in for a #%^& load of modding flip the chasis and apply the bezel and side panels right side up to the case seems like a prettty fast fix

Actually, I did the exact same thing with my Sanguineus mod and ran into the same problem.
What I did was cut away about 1.5" off the drive cages to allow mobo clearance. Of course mock this up with a drive and a spare mobo to make sure the CD ROM doesn't hit any capacitors or anything, but mine worked out fine. ![]() Edit: Check my posts here and here for pics of my solution. ![]()
