Default Cathodes Cathodes Cathodes

What is a good brand to look for when buying cathodes? Are some brighter than others?

I will be putting these cathodes into an Antec 900 and I want enogh light to fill the side panel window. How many cathodes will I need and at what size?

Where can I get sound activated cathodes?

By the way the color of the lights will be blue.

Thanks

~Zaxbys

I can't remember seeing anyone say one brand was better than another as far as CCFL's (but if anyone has a preference feel free to correct me) and you can buy them at a few onlince PC stores. Petras sells them here. Performance PC's sells them as well, here.

CCFL's are very bright, a 12" set will be more than enough to make the inside of your case a light show.

As long as it's not a full acrylic case and just a windowed case a single pair of CCFLs. The only thing that tends to become a problem is that the wiring between the inverter and the CCFL tubes generally isn't very long and in most cases does not allow one tube at the top and another at the bottom, which is why people often use a pair at the top and a second pair at the bottom.

That's what extensions are for

I usually end up buying Logisys 12'' tubes.

but you don't want to extend the wiring between the inverter and the CCFL tube as this does effect the performance either by them dimming or result in part of the tube remaining unlit.
