Default Can you guess what this is?

I got this in a box of gadgets that my cousin gave to me... have no clue what it is... I see sata connections and a usb connection but don't know what the hell it is

I saw led lights on it too...i wonder if i can use them on my case

I know they make usb to sata connectors but this one is really odd looking

edit: maybe its some type of external hard drive enclosure?

Can you get the code off of the second chip, not the SST one? That might give us a hint as to what this does. The SST is a bit of flash memory.

My guess from just staring at it is that its a SATA (raid?) ->USB converter, like for an external hard drive or something.

If you look at the bottom right of the third picture you'll see that there's some type of connection...much like sata but not quite

edit: on the underside of that connection there is another one of the same type
edit: the bottom one seems to be the male end and the top one you see is the female connector...still don't know what kind it is though
