Hi everyone,
__________________After seeing all the amazing case mods on this forum (such stars as Syrillian and CyberDruid), I was inspired to work on my own little case project. I have my ideas and a preliminary Sketchup model, so now it's time to get the materials. Unfortunately, living in NYC makes access to any raw material pretty difficult. Home Depot has a very small supply of thin 1/16" transparent acrylic.. I was wondering, if there is anybody here who lives in New York, North Jersey area and knows good and inexpensive suppliers of acrylic sheets. Thanks!

There are a bunch of stores that sell only plastics in NYC. They are all on northside of Canal St. near Broadway. Right next to Chinatown.
If you want more selection, try www.mcmaster.com or www.usplastic.com

Oh living in NYC gives you amazing access to materials... you just have to know where to look.

Yeah, there are like 2-3 plastics stores next to each other. Then again... I haven't been there for a few years.

mcmaster.com has a warehouse in Edison, NJ. You can pick up locally or ship ups. I usually get my orders next day without paying next day (regular ground) and I am in east Queens. If youre literally in Manhattan you could go there same day, or ship ups by next day same as me. Shipping is usually only 4-5 bucks

Nice thread. I am definitely going to look into this as my project is closer to being finished.
