Default I can buy this custom case, but its MDF. Do or Don't?
Well,
some guy i know, is selling his custom case, for about 110 bucks.
It's a beautiful case really, but i don't really like that its from MDF/wood.
as i've heard, MDF and wood isolate the heat, is this true?
And would it damage quickly?
so, Should or shouldnt i buy it?

With sufficient airflow, the insulating properties of the MDF won't matter.

MDF is fairly tough, but will swell if it gets wet or damp.

nah, it doesn't matter brother. With all those fans you won't notice a difference between a case made of this stuff and one made of steel.

It has sufficient airflow imho, 8x 140MM

MDF will swell if it gets wet... dang, so i cant phase/watercool..

One would think you would have bigger problems than your case getting wet if you WC is leaking

Sweet looking case though. The insulation bit is nonsense. If you're case is ever really radiating heat, you need better airflow lol.

$40 a sheet last I checked and I'll bet he didn't need more than half a sheet.

But it's the little things that add up. Fans are pricey, wire extensions, noise isolation stuff, screws, bolts, paint/primer, acrylic. Adds up really, really fast. I hate how expensive my mod is becoming.


I say go for it, you can always put a couple coats of polyurethane on it to keep it from swelling in the humidity.
