Default First case mod - External PSU, look!

hey everyone,

I wanted to make my case different from other peoples so i wanted to do something original but that also helped the looks and organization of my case. I decided to externally mount my PSU, then drill holes in the side of it and run the wires through the case, and hid them behind the removable HDD rack. These are finished pictures of what i did to my case. The steps are as follows:

-went to hardware store, bought 90 degree angle brackets and circle cutter bit
-decided where i wanted my psu and drew holes for the screws, as well as the hole in the side of the case where i would run the wires through
-after starting the hole, i realized my Ultra Dragon case is pure steel, not aluminum like i thought, so if you have a steel case, i wouldnt recomend doing this mod because its really hard to cut through steel
-i took out the jig saw with a metal cutter blade which worked much better
-realized there where two layers to my case, so i had to make two holes through both the layers to get the wires through.
-measured and mounted the holes for the brackets and screwed them in
-put adhesive padding on the brackets so it didnt scratch PSU
-mounted PSU and connected all the wires!

these pics are th finished product, enjoy!

Great idea! But that hole looks a little rough, and the duct tape looks out of place, velcro it to the side of the case, smooth out the sharp edges on the hole and put some molding around it.

I like the looks of it, but I would try and make that hole look a little better. It looks like.. Well.. I don't really know what that hole looks like, but it sure doesn't look like a circle, lol.

yeah, the reason the hole looks funky is because it has the padded adhesive that i used on the brackets too, it is actually a good circle cut, the adhesive just doesnt stay on that well so it looks bad. I will be getting some UV blue sleeving when i can to make it look more professional and finished, i just needed what was lying around...

thanks for the comments!
