Default Stupid mistake.

I got sick of looking at my botched side window mod and now the european Antec store is up and running I thought i'd order a new side panel for another go

Once on the site I seen the black side panels so I thought I may aswell get TWO of them since I painted the interior of my case black a while back, I knew they wern't specifically for my case but I figured they would fit all the same, heh I was WRONG. They arrived today, no dents, scratches or anything, which is unusual for me since everything I buy is either broke or damaged ;l

So I take them out remove my old scratched side panels and ATTEMPT to put on the new ones but they don't slide on all the way flush up to the front of the case! There is about a 10mm gap So I sit looking at them for about an hour comparing it to the old panel and they are identical in almost every way except for the rear end of the panel were the screws should go, it's about 1mm thicker than the original ones but that isn't the problem since there is still space between the rear of the case of the rear of the panel, this is were pictures would help but sadly I have none.

In the end I got so frustrated I layed the case on it's side and forced the panel on with a few heavy blows to the back and hey presto it fits albeit VERY tightly with a 1mm gap at the front because of the extra thickness I mentioned earlier.

It has me really confused. It's going to be a pain removing/replacing the side panel everytime now. So much so I might just sell them on.

SO is there anyone with any experience with these panels that can shed some light on this? (I doubt there is) Anyway let this thread be a warning to anyone considering buying black side panels to replace there existing silver ones

/vent

lol, No damage was caused, I used a towel were I was banging it. Not to protect the panel but my hand, it hurt!

I forced it on and off a few times to see if there was any scratches/marks where it was catching so I could figure out what is stopping it from closing properly, but guess what, not a mark in sight so i'm non the wiser ;l Now they're both on it looks like a whole new case though so I think i'll be keeping them, maybe they will loosen up over time *crosses fingers*
