Ouch, that hurts
![]() just shows that you have to be sure you go in straight ![]() When I did something similar, I did not use self-tapping screws; I drilled out the holes by hand then tapped them out for use with hex cap screws

You might want to try gluing/welding instead like I posted a few pages back if you're interested. You can find the glue here.

well i am never going to go to Lowes again it took me 4 people to figure out where it was in the store, and they didnt have the right thickness either same with Home depot but i only had to ask one person there.
Well that was a pilot hole i was drilling but going in from the side is really hard to see if your going straight. But i thought about the glue but i couldnt find it locally and idk how it will look. So im going to have to order some acrylic online, then im thinking of using smaller screws so i dont have to go in as deep. But atleast i live and learn right ![]() Edit: Ouch, i just looked online for 3/8" 2' X 2'. Is $58. Hmmmm im going to have to think about this long and hard..... Unless anyone has some spare acrylic sitting around i could pay for?

you said earlier that you were using 3/4" acrylic, but now you're looking into buying 3/8" stock
![]() I've done this no sweat with 3/4" acrylic, but I can see it getting trickier with 1/2" or 3/8"

here are some better prices for you
24" x 24" x 3/8" = $30 and 1/2" thickness is only $8.50 more
