Hi Guys,, NEED some HELP here,, I have installed Autodesk Inventor Pro with my Uni License but after only using the program once i can no longer open it, i am running Vista 64 Bit and keep getting the following error message. "Autodesk Inventor Pro 2009" needs to close, No messages as to why it needs to close, i have tried repairing, reinstalling and even a system restore but still the same message.

I have contacted atodesk about it but still got nothing back fro them, I would really like to get to learn this program and would post my work here if i eventually get it working, Any help would be most gratefulllllll,

Thanks in advance if anyone can help

only thing I can think of is that possibly some supporting software may not be properly installed; this may be something like the .NET framework, but I'm not sure. I have not yet tried the 2009 Inventor so I'm not certain of the support software requirements; though it should work under Vista, but I haven't tested this since I run Windows XP

yeah sometimes software installation can be a pain, especially when supporting software is necessary. I'm currently re-installing all the software after a reformat of my office machine; at least I now got a copy of ghost from the IT guy so I can make a restore image as soon as I have everything correctly installed.

Ye i use Acronis for my images, but have only just done a clean install after losing an hard drive so not done the back-up image yet. i literally only had the Autodesk and Adobe master collection installed,

I will do another clean install of Vista 64x and also do the XP 64 on another partition and use that for Autodesk, only take me a couple of hrs to get them both up and running and then at least i will know " " lol

I just added some information in the OP of this thread in terms of compatibility issues between professional and educational versions of software apps and how to get an educational version of Autodesk Inventor from Autodesk.
