what is that black thing next to the psu hiding all the wires with the fan on it?

With that fan, it looks as if it could be a small backup battery. Maybe enough for about 5 minutes or just to log off your computer before it just shuts you down.

Backup battery? i doubt it. So you guys haven't seen anything like this for purchase online?
