Default Best hard drive enclosure... help

i just got a new laptop through my school so i have to sell off some of my desktop components to help pay for ****.
i want to keep my 200g sata hd so i need to buy an enclosure.

i was wonder what is the best sata enclosure out there. i really want a good one. It doesn't have to have firewire cause i think usb2 will be good enough.

i was looking at some vantec ones, but ya i want the best.
also maybe a 5.25" one for my dvd burner.

hit me up with some suggestions

I have tried out 3 different external hard drive enclosures. 2 of them were made by Bytecc, and let me tell you, they were horrible! Both of them were hot and the transfer speeds were ridiculously slow. Then the last one I bought was this one from Compusa. A little more pricey, but it has been fantastic! I have a 120gb WD IDE drive in there and it simply rocks. Just last night I made a backup of my music folder, which was 10gb, or about 3000 mp3's. I was able to transfer all the music from an internal IDE drive to the external drive in about 7 minutes. I then tried the same thing over a wireless network (802.11B), and it took 3 hours. I am very pleased with my purchase. Oh, it also has a small fan to keep the drive cool, and it is super quiet.

Just let it lye on your desk... thats what we did at my job... Good airflow... just let a long sata cable hang out of the back of an open pci slot

Edit: Just realized this would be impractical for east transfer of hard drive... my bad.

Sorry, I missed that one.

Personally, I would go with either this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817124007

Or this one:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817155903

Newegg has 7 other external enclosures for SATA drives, and those are the two that I would choose.

I don't think these will work, it say you must have an SATA connection for it to work or a pci card with SATA connections, unless your laptop has them??

Dose your laptop have SATA ports, if not can it take a pci card, if not it won't work. I don't think they make SATA to work with usb.

I think what Jrabb was trying to say is that since your laptop doesn't use SATA hard drives it might not be possible to use an external SATA enclosure. I really have no idea if it would work, but I would think it would, as the data is being sent through the usb cable.
