Default Blast from the past! *pics*

Hey everyone,

I found these pictures of my very first custom rig, they really can't capture the amount of time and effort which was put into this rig, the countless hours spent trying to make this piece of crap case as air tight as possible.

Anyways, It was built in 1999, and was named "Alpha", being my first build. May not look like much, but it played CS and UT99 like no other

Here's the gear;

A-Bit BE6II Slot 1 Mainboard
Intel Pentium III Slot 1 900mHz (Ran @ ~1200mHz)
Custom TEC cooling setup (Peltier)
Creative Sound Blaster LIVE! Value
3Dfx Voodoo 3 3500 AGP TV-Out Edition
2x20GB Maxtor 7200's in Raid 0
2x256 Kingston Ram
6X CD-R/RW Drive
Premier 300W PSU
Displayed on a Viewsonic 17'' CRT

Tons of server fans, cork board, aluminum tape, tubing, etc...

Here she is;

Fullsize images:

Never shown these to anyone come to think of it, forgive me if I've forgotten some details about the hardware, it's been a decade.

Holy moly, cable management xD!
Just kidding. Wow I wish I still had my rig from 2000, trashed that junker long time ago, it got fried lol.

P.S. You should probably make those pictures a little smaller, kind of hard to take a good look at the whole thing without scrolling around.

I challenge you to clean it out and make that old system look like it just came off the showroom floor.

I'd like to add, it looks like that computer case is housing a car engine rather than computer .

Resized to 1024x768, looks better IMO, that good?

I know no one will believe me, but at one point it looked a lot better, I pulled out some of the cooling mods to give everyone a better shot of the machine.

Restoring it is actually pretty intriguing, I'd love to see her back up and running again just for kicks. Maybe put it inside a glass case to show it off in my living room (yes I'm that big of a nerd).

Edit: Lots of vehicle parts were used for this, reason being, back in 1999, cooling mods for your PC were, well, scarce. So I bought a lot of parts from Home Depot / Auto Shops.
