Operation Led switch is full steam ahead. This is a worklog of it.
__________________Ive just come back from a store downtown, or rather 2, in which i have bought 3 ultra bright leds (blue) 2 momentary switches, and some caps for my toggle switches which already exist (4 of em) on my ghetto homemade fan controller. They are also blue. The caps were 1c each lol, so i got 5 to make a nickel, the switches r 50cents each, i got 2, and the LED's were 7 bucks per LED, but i went to my trusty chinese friends at wintronic and got the same ones for 5 bucks/3. These leds are tiny, super hot, 3volt but omg you wont believe how bright. With just one led, i can see my hand's shadow or play hand puppet show and see it all from across the hall!!! Its extremely bright, i put 2 2megaohm resistors on them and now they arent so bright, but still brighter then the ones i had stock on my case. Now everytime my hdd starts working, its like some one turned a cold cathode on. Pretty crazy. Anyway, like 5mins ago i took of the front panel (lol i just found out its removable) and took out the LED assemblies. My case had 1 green and 1 yellow for power and hdd. I took the assemblies apart, and took out the LED's. Then i unsoldiered the wires. I put the new LED's in and soldiered the wires on. Put the panel back, turned the pc on, boom im half blind. Barely found teh switch, turned it off, and i literaly had that thing u get when u look right into the sun or a lightbulb - u know what im tlakin about, that bright greenish/orangish spot where u saw that lightbulb, and now u cant c anything that the spot is in front off. After bout a minute it was gone and i could finally see what i was doing. So i unsoldiered the wires...again... went to the basement, found 2 matching resistors (2megaohm each) and soldiered those on. Then the wires back on. Slapped the panel back on turned the pc on, and voilah Operation Led switch is complete. Now i have a kick arse front ![]()
