Default Good cooling idea?

I have a standard 7800GTX cooling and was wondering what i can do to enhance it. I was thinking of doing this-

Red- Graphics card
Blue- Where fan will be mounted

I have a spare 80mm fan.

Would it work good? Where does the hot air from the card go?

Thanks.

You can buy fans for that, they fit in the pci slot next to the video card and pull the air away and out of the case.

Hey, you're the same noni from TBF2, anyways, it probably would work, another idea is actualy drilling holes into the bottom of the case and puttin it as an intake fan. Just note, if you do this, don't put it on carpet or a rug, and make sure that your case has tall enough "feet" to raise it up enough for airflow to come in. if you do that, you should get significantly lower gpu temps.

EDIT: and i wouldn't do what you have there, if you were to do that make it intake, the 7800GTX fan i believe sucks in air and pushes the air through the HS, so it would make the temps even worse. If you put it in the same config but as an intake fan, it would get fresh cool air into the heatsink and cool it much better.

I'm not sure how youre graphics card works since I don't have one but if you fan is pulling air onto the gpu core and your pushin air out they will work against each other which will worsen the temps

If that bottom fan was an intake fan it would work better. The stock cooling sucks the air from the back of the case and pushes it towards the front. as an exaust fan it deprives the cooler of air, but as an intake it provides cool outside air to the cooler.
