That can make a case for me out of solid cherry or walnut. It would look awesome. He is using an old mid-tower case as a template. A couple of questions...
1.) Would it work? 2.) I know I would have to accomidate for fans and such (it is still in the design phase.. but would i need more or less airflow than a aluminum case?

If you use wood just for the outside it's okay, but if you make a wooden HDD rack it won't fit because the screws are not long enough.

It would be about the same I'm guessing. You need air flow if you are going to be going air cooling. If you go Phase or W/C I don't see it being much of a factor. Just make sure you add some holes for at least 2 intakes and 2 exhaust.

More airflow than aluminum, i'm pretty sure aluminum is a little more heat conductive than wood.

wood can be used, and can look very nice. danger den now makes a bunch of custom cases using some very high quality wood work that they were showing off at the last PDXLAN. i'd say go for it if you can.

I say dont make it anymore than 1/4" thick. And, have a metal back-plate for the mobo so it will stay grounded.
