dragon.. i just noticed this.. but it looks like your extension is running criss crossed like it would on a normal psu wire... shouldn't it be running straight from one end to another..? or maybe i'm imagining things.

@.style: i think you might have to pay atleast $30 as the costs of materials hit that much.

You can't tell, but it's actually running straight across. Some of the cables are longer than others by a hair, so it's a bit twisty. I did have to re-arrange it as it used to be able to convert to and from 20/24-pin. You can also freely move colors around as long as you keep the same colors in the same position. In the picture, there was one strand that was looped around another and had to be moved, but it is now 100% straight across.

Pins are not sitting at the same height. Just make sure they are clipped in tight. I had a problem when I switched out to a black connector on my extension, plugging in to the mobo connector, the green wire popped out. That caused a mild sweat when I went for a first boot and nothing happened .

I would do this, but you can't really see any of my wires anyway. Too well hidden and too many tubes in the way.

haha, yeah green wire, kinda important to start the computer! Everything is tight, I made sure of that by pulling back out the barbs (fins) on the arrow point locking the pins in place.

I like it, definitely!

I've seen the mod done on some different places and it looks cool but you definitely gotta have a theme or else it looks funny. They bend better than the single sleeved 24 cables, but are basically a prettier version of unsleeved.

Oh yeah, did you use spray paint to color the wires?

is it possible to uni-sleeve only the very ends (like 1-2 inches) and then just normal sleeve the rest?
i think that that would look really cool.

I was just thinking. I think these would look sick if you could somehow thread a super thin wire or thread through the same side of each sleeve (for two rows) and tighten it to form a rectangle with all the individual wires. Thoughts?

Yup, cheap black spray paint. Works very well. Just keep it an even coat so it doesn't clump up.

Looks amazing. For the 24-pin extension, does it matter which color wire goes where or can I just take em all out, paint em black and put em back anywhere?

As long as they connect "strait across" i.e. not crossing any wires, then yeah, but they different colors correspond to different voltages and stuff, and if you mess with that it would be a major PITA if you have to troubleshoot it.
