Three hours yesterday & about one hour today. Sketchup is an easy program to use.

Yep. I copied the way you mounted the hard drives. I'm going to wrap the screw/rack with a thin layer of foam then heat shrink. Thanks for the idea.

Lol, Awesome idea.

Updated pictures from the hour spent today, using ideas and suggestions.
Changed to 140mm fans, cable mangement hole in motherboard tray. Case feet added, handle added. I think I will add blow holes at the top and bottom of the acrylic. Sorry for all the pictures but I cant upload the sketchfile here or in 3d Warehouse.

dude! someone needs to make an OCN Group of tech station owners!
i love the smooth curve in the front of the mobo tray. i'd forgo the fans, as long as theres pressure inside the acrylic dust cover, air will come in and out of the case. plus curves are sexier than fans! =P~

you may not need as many posts between mobo tray and base tray, the mobo/cpu hsf/videocards aren't that heavy to warp/bend a 1/2inch wood with that surface area. all you need to keep are the corner supports. that will make it look better!(my tastes anyway)

but really dude, your design is the l3333tz! +rep!

I saw the video card supports on the Banchetto 101 (picture one). I don't know where to buy them, if I cant find them, I'll have to adjust my tech station.
I just found out that my mate who was going to do the donkey work, has just got a job in Glasgow for the next six weeks, typical.

looks like they're just really long standoffs; you'd just need to know the height from the MB tray to the bottom the the PCI brackets of the expansion cards and buy accordingly. You should be able to get long standoffs at McMaster-Carr.

...I see a "Mod of the Month" postbit in your future, Pabs.

Looks to be an excellent design.

P.S. Aeon Flux is righteous....
