wow ive been looking for one of these tutorials with excellent pictures, excellent work my friend...but what i heard is that if u connect them backwards,it doesnt blow it,it just doesnt turn on....but i think i trust you more and when the part of replacing leds, when u say"look inside the led" do you really mean the inside where the bulb is etc?

and how can u tell if inside the led ones long and ones short?

It takes time to blow the bulb if you hook it up backwards. And yes, you look inside. If you have not cut off the prongs, then it's just the longest one. And there is one side in there that is bigger than the other.

If you look at the LED itself there will be 2 pieces inside of it. 1 will be smaller than the other. The smaller one is the positive one and the negative one is the larger one. The PCB on my xigmatek fans have +'s so if yours have that you'll know which ones are positive.
