Dont know if this is the right place or not.
Well was at lowe looking around and i started thing, Hey i should paint my antec 300 case and what not since i am board. Got all the tools to take it apart(1/8 drill bit, rivet gun). Went over to the paint area and started looking at some spray paint, and started thinking of what color to paint it. I plan on painting the inside flat black and probley the outside either leaving it regular black or painting it metallic blue. Got 2-3 cans of the flat black from valspar and got self etching primer from rustoloium. I am gonna sand the inside to scratch it up so the primer has sometihng to stick too. Now my question is how many coats should i do of the primer and the base coat? and Do i need a clear coat for a flat black/matte black finish? Will post worklog once i get everything figured out.

Okay that helped out a little bit. I know know how many coats to apply and flash time. Still do i need a clear coat for a flat black finish? no glossy at all is what i am going for.

I don't believe a clear coat is required, but if I understand it correctly a clear coat will add a little bit of resistance to scratches. If you want flat black, and you decide to clear coat, you'll need to find the one that says "Matte Finish" or whatever, or else it will be glossy.
