I'm in the market for a dremel but I'm not sure which one to get. Is there much of a difference between the 300 and 400? I just need it for case mods and a little light house work.

Just get one that fit your budget. as long as it is corded and has a good rpm. you will be fine. I looked at bot of them both of them have the same rpm. so you are good what ever one you choose

Harbor Freight has a dremel-like tool for about 10 bucks. It's a 30 piece kit.
I haven't tried it myself but for people on a budget you can skip McDonalds one day and be able to afford it. And for a tool you won't use much it might be perfect for you. They also have one for 25 bucks that has a variable speed motor.
