Default Finished My First Case/Mod Paint CM 690(Updated pics)LOTS

So after poking around the forums for a couple months and posting my random questions and two cents I decided to work on my first case mod and I'm pretty happy with it .

I bought a refurbished CM 690 a while back and decided to do a couple mods to it and paint it .

I took a couple ideas from other members and figured the rest out on my own.

I bought a Dremel 400 XPR which I LOVE and got some Plasti-Dip Spray and got to work .

The PC parts I had from my old system and is not my sig rig

I was gonna put together a worklog but was having problems with the program.

Here are some pics Jump on the bottom to Finished product and album with the rest of the pics.

Very nice SNO,

I particularly like the artistic shoot from the rear fan hole, looking into the HD cage

Seriously - looks sweet.

I noticed some other members cut out the honeycomb fan filters on the case. So I did that on the top and the back .

Also cut out the plastic honeycomb stuff off the top off the case

Covered that with some rubber stripping. Put a Fan grill on the back so I didnt cut off a finger on accident.

Painted with a primer then sprayed the plasti dip on if you want that stuff to stay you need a couple coats I found out.

It looks a lot cleaner and the air flow is better I'm sure I like the black a lot better than that boring grey.

Indeed - Eye candy is good on a Friday!

A side window mod and a drive steath are always fun. Since you already have the dremel, should be a walk in the park

There are several examples in the mod section...

What type of rubber strips did you use? Looks very clean.

Yeah I'm planning a window mod right now . Have some cheap cathodes to throw in there too once it's done.

I also put 140 yates in the top instead of the 120s

great job so far. looks 150% better than before
i recently got into those nitro rc cars and now i want to get a spray gun.
i might get some of that neon glow paint and do flames on the base of my case.
the neon glow only shows under uv or blacklight. i think it would be something different.

I did a similair mod to my 300 a couple days ago, I bought clear coat paint to prevent chipping, the paint was messed up/faulty or something though because when i sprayed it, it came out white, So i didnt use clear coat paint and what do ya know, some chipping has become upon me I will remove my hardware and repaint tomorrow probably, but here is my paint mod on my antec 300, sorry to steal your thread...I just thought it was relevant because your paint job was beautiful

Try and ignore the chipping/drip on the hd bay my gf pulled on me, All will be sanded and fixed. but similair paint jobs with sim. cases
