So my friend may have a hook up in powdercoating and i asked to get a quote for powdercoating... hes guessing around $50 but the guy he called said max $100. thinking of getting my lian li pc-7f chassis powdercoated satin black. And leave the side panels stock brushed black aluminum. cuz i like the brushed look.
is that a good price for a mid tower? also.. do i need to plug up the holes myself like the standoff holes? or do i need to de-rivet the case?

if its a local guy, make sure to see some of his work!! the price for a 100 is kinda steep, i know an artisian on here is offering powdercoating, as far as plugging all prep should be included in the price, if not, dont do it

The powdercoating itself is pretty cheap (especially in a standard color).
__________________Its the stripping and prep that they charge big for. Seeing as your case is aluminum (and not treated or anodized steel), they should be able to coat it with minimal effort. Anything over $50 is robbery.

Regarding your standoff holes, I'd suggest putting screws into them. You can't plug them any other way because the heat they use to liquify the powder will melt anything other than metal.

Lian Li cases are M3 throughout so probs worth grabbing an M3 tap.
Alternatively, screw the standoffs into the mobo tray as normal and use the thumbscrews to plug the standoff holes. This way you end up with black thumbscrews and clean standoffs.
