In all seriousness...cats will learn quickly. What I do is snap my finger really loudly over and over right near their ear until they move. If you keep doing it every time they jump up there, eventually all you have to do is snap your fingers PERIOD and they will move.

i was thinking more like mounting a copper plate on top and wiring to a car battery buy my gf says that is cruel

with haveing 4 cats, and keeping the house 60~64f the cats love heat sources, #1 are the vents, #2 are my basement rigs, When I purched 5 x vantec tornado's that really got them to go away, aside from that, I have a cactus and pot that looks very much like the 1 that Dittoz posted. Maybie try doublesided tape to stick stuff to the top of your case that the cat(s) would not be able to swat off. I wish there was a way to keep them from swatting off all the small things on my desks, but they are just attention hounds, and 1 of the cats actually barks when its not getting its way.
