For bigger holes you are right but believe me with the drill bit I showed you it is a lot easier and quicker.

Do you got the fans already?
i'd recommend for case fans to use the Coolermaster R4-C2R or R4-L2R (for LEDs) fans as they're quiet while pushing a good amount of air.

I myself use the Green LED ones in my Black Pearl.

When i had my Cosmos 1000, i was using AeroCool Lightning fans and Scythe Kaze-Maru fans to keep the damn thing cool

Alright I just joined because Damir Poljak you're playing around with the same build and asking the same questions I am. (As far as the 5870 Sapphire's Vapor-X technology is something I'm looking at. I want to see how it plays out on the card, it was announced on November 2nd I believe, who knows when that will hit shelves). Look into reviews from earlier cards that used Vapor-X, some of the 4870's received some higher OC's than other 4870's. Reviewers said this card typically ran hotter than lower 48xx cards, the Vapor-X allowed them to push their OC'ing a little bit. i.e. The Sapphire Vapor-X technology did in fact cool the card better. (And it's only 20 USD more on MSRP that I've seen).

As far as the case goes. A cursory read of only 2 reviews on the case, seemed to suggest that the air intake was only on the bottom. Can you point me to a review that shows it also draws air in at other points in the case, like you're proposing and your schematic shows? I wonder if that will have any effect on the "wind tunnel" design that they have inside the case? Because, if all the air except the bottom is pushing air out of the case there'd be a lower pressure on the inside of the case. Creating a twisting turning vacuum of air. Could creating more air intake alter how they plan to have the air moving throughout the case? Granted, this is from just reading a few reviews quickly and pontificating about it having done very little in terms of science courses dealing with air and air movement or actually owning the case :X.

In other words, I think it favors your second schematic that you just brought up as opposed to your first. More air suction out, as opposed to the opposite that would probably divert some air from one of the bottom case fans. Also, the first design maybe sucking in some nasty air that your PSU is pushing out, and bringing hot air towards more sensitive parts of your case?

Thanx for the long post
I still haven't completed my PC (need mobo, GPU, CPU and memory) and I am trying to figure out what to buy, read reviews and ask questions. Finding the best bang for buck, right?
As for GPU, I like the idea of vapor-x technology but I do not know will I wait for it because I will complete my PC in next week or so.
I am glad that someone else is having the same questions.
Here are some pics that I found so far, and I cant remember where, but I will try to find the sources.
