Default Anti vibration stuff?

I have awful problems with vibrations. Not in my case, but vibrations going through to my table and making a loud and low pitched humming noise. It's not continuous, it goes loud, quiet, loud, quiet. It's really annoying.

At the moment, my fix is the "sock mod" and it works. But I want something a little more "elegant". Any suggestions?

Rubber case feet
Soft mount your HDDs which appear to be mounted directly to the cage (i suggest the rubber band mod)
Rubber grommets or rubber "screws" on fan mountings

stick some 1/4" thick foam pads on the bottom of your case feet. Fabric stores would be your best bet for finding some

Use rubber "screws" for the fans, and instead of mounting the HDDs to the case directly suspend them with some bungee.

sound dampening the case sides won't reduce overall desk vibrations much (although it will muffle the whole case and should reduce overall case noise)

Sorry, I don't really want to soundproof the inside, there are no annoying rattles, it's just a general hum getting through to the desk.

I need something to go on/under the feet to absorb any vibrations. With the socks it's very quiet. So, something to dampen down there.

Cheers

The best way to tackle this is to fight the source of the vibrations (HDDs and fans)
Efficient case feet will only do so much

Suspended hard drives make a really dramatic difference
Soft fan mounts are pretty good too but they won't kill all the vibrations. Opening up stock fan grills might help at vibrations, and surely helps at noise.

Nexus makes rubber feet, not sure how efficient they are.

I understand, but that "so much" is enough. I mean, i've stuffed socks my case feet and it's completely fixed. Why spend more money when I don't need to?

rubber band could fix it and it'll barely cost you a buck

Maybe the answer would simply be stylish socks
