Yeah this is a great guide for people who need to fix their airflow in their case. I dunno about "super-duper" aesthetically looking cable management, but still.

If I were you, Deano, I'd get a strip of aluminium, and cut it so it so you can fill the space you can see between the motherboard tray and the drive bays, then cut holes in it to run cables through.
Would look much cleaner, IMO.

It also helps to have a larger case designed to handle the cable management.
My CM590 is great but behind the motherboard is tiny and cable management has gotten to be a hassle. Also, recommend some cases with great cable management in the first post and the guide will be complete. (I must say, the Corsair Obsisdian is the best case for cable management I have ever seen. Too bad it's 300 USD.)
