Here is a tasty mod to silence the CM Stacker 830--which is pretty much mesh on both sides, the front and top--which means every noise in the case comes out. After the mod the difference was a big drop in noise from the case--with no real change in temps--this particular rig has only one raptor--two VCards, a XiFi card and one DVD--so case temps are not going to be a problem by enclosing the two sides--it actually improves the flow past the Zalman 9500 out the back 120.
![]() Spiitz is carefully straightening the mesh tabs that hold the puffed-out mesh panel to the the side panel ![]() He's being careful not to break the tabs, ![]() Now I take over--tracing the outline of the panel onto the acrylic--this is a bit tricky because the panel is far from flat. ![]() I am using a Bosch saw and blade. ![]() I am supporting the sheet at the edge of the table to avoid cracking the 1/8" acrylic ![]() Blocksanded--but the film is still on the sheet--so it looks fugly. ![]() It fits perfectly. ![]() ![]() Backside ![]() Money

What about painting the mesh with a UV paint, then mounting a UV light above the panel tucked away?

Well if it was my case I think that would be sweet--I suggested having the acrylic etched--then it could be side lit and the artwork would glow suspended behind the mesh--lots of ways to make it look interesting...nice idea. Unfortunately it is my friend's case--so whatever he thinks is cool is how it will be...LOL
