Default mathematica, anyone?

hey i just upgraded from 3.xx to 5.xx and i having some problems
i would like to know how to use parametricplot3d fuction...do i have to define it be4 code, or ask it to open the .m file....my dad teaches a course on it this fall and wants me to check if his 3.xx manual worksheet problems can be done in 5.xx, one of the problems calls upon this parametricplot3d function and it doesnt work defining it be 4 or during code

Used it in a lab in school a couple years back. It was odd, the class involved the program, yet we weren't allowed to use calculators on tests and quizzes...hmm The lab instructor never bothered to discuss mathematica in detail, guess that's why I never fully grasped it.

Haven't needed it since

I can imagine that knowing how to use the program could really open some doors.
