Default Help with a basic script

Hey all,

I'm currently setting up a script that will email a group of people when a certain user logs into a server. Right now i'm having problems getting the time stamp right. The actual time is ok, but when I put in %Date% the script is having problems. Whats wrong is the format of the date displayed is messing with the script. For example... I'm trying to show wed 08/09/06, but the first slash is causing the program to skip to the next command, so it's just showing wed 08. Is it possible to change the display format to use hyphens or periods? I hope i made sense with all this.
Thanx!
