Is this for an online server or LAN setup? Generally, the server has to be more powerful than a single user PC playing the same game. Also, you want to make sure you have plenty of RAM. Multicore is a big plus. 800MHz PC just won't do.

Nah , thats not enough power for 20 people. I have a 2.66 Single Core P4 with 768MB RAM and a really good connection and it seems to not be lagging at all. Thats with 18 slots open with 6v6.

I have an Ahtlon XP 1600+ with 384mb ram, running Debian Linux. I have yet to truly stress test it, as my upload connection is slow; 400kpbs. But it can handle about 6 people online, despite the connection speed. I've been able to play, via LAN, with just myself and about 20 bots; no lag.
