Default need help with circle to line collision

i need to know how to find out whether a circle is colliding with a line segment and the parameters for the function would be a the x and y of the circle, the radius of the circle, and two other points stating the begining and end of the line. I got collision detection for a circle with and INFINITE line (using a whole lot of equations from my math class) but I dont exactly know what your suppose to do if the line is specfic length and not infinitely long .
can someone plz help
