I started with C++ and it was good for going off into other languages. Before that though I learned HTML pretty thoroughly. After this, I think Perl might be nice to learn.

i would start with Spanish, it's a very simple language.
but on topic here, i'd start with the web languages (html, xml, php, that sort of stuff) as the basic concepts are the same as real programming, but they're easier

What kind of language do you want to learn?
__________________If you want to do webdesign or something learn some HTML, CSS, PHP. For software programing learn some C++. www.w3schools.com has a ton of web programing tutorials and examples.

In today's word, coding/prgramming is more copy/paste and change some of the text. HTML is good to know.

Apple Doesn't Love You
|
After learning a few languages, I wish I had learned C (not even C++) first. While most software development is not going to be in the C end of things, it gives you an incredible basis. You will understand a lot of what other languages do on a much more fundamental level if you understand C.
While Java/other OO languages are a must, C is a better first language
