Hi, I am having some trouble getting phpBB to work on my server. Can anyone walk me through how to upload and install it using either SmartFTP or FileZilla? Thanks a lot!

First set up a SQL server on your web hosting account. if they use the normal interface, you should see it in your AdminCP when you log in to your webhost. (edit: since you have your own server make sure you have SQL server and PHP installed on your webserver, and make a database in SQL) Make a note of the username and password of the SQL database you have just created, as well as the name of the database itself. Then, what you have to do is go into the config.php file and edit the information (database user, pass, and name) in the appropriate slots.
then upload everything, just select all the files including the modified config.php and put it in your site somewhere

access install.php on your browser, and install!!!

phpBB is a very good tool for easy to set up forums. since its free, so many extensions, like mxBB and such

PM me for more help
