i took a class 2 years ago, learned alot, but then stopped programming since then. i really don't want to forget all the stuff i learned, it's really helpful to know when you want to go into a career that has something to do with computers
Buying a book helps, just make sure its very descriptive and gives you lots of chances for practicing what you're learning. I've had some good and some bad programming books in my day, usually the best ones were the ones that gave you simple problems to solve using a coding project (i.e. input your birthday and convert it to time alive in seconds, or convert celcius to fahrenheit, etc...). The books that are merely reference guides arn't to helpful to learn coding, rather a way to help you with syntax once you already get how it works.

A simple google search turns up tons of results for C++ stuff, I'd check out this site for a good tutorial. Also this site seems to have some good initial projects to get you started on.

The gratitude i have for you doing this for me is HUGE! You have no idea how impressed i am that a total stranger help me out so much! On your vacation of all times as well!!!

I cannot say thanks enough times... so i hope this smile will do the trick! (jk)
Heh, my pleasure man. I was lucky though, my girlfriend had to work till 11 so I had plenty of time to get this done. Had she left early I wouldn't have been able to finish (yes I'm taking my vacation where my girlfriend lives... long story)

Anyways I hope it works allright, let me know if there's anything I did that totally confuses you (ha, if I looked at my code today I'd probably be like ***?). Also, I did the entire thing in bloodshed like you're using because thats what I first started on. Its pretty simple and I have had fairly good luck with it. It craps out when I have to port my code over to a unix environment, but just for making basic programs work its perfect.
