i think there shouldn't be any major issues. however please read through it first to make sure it doesn't do anything you don't want. all the changes it makes are labeled. just delete anything you don't want it to do and then run it.
edit: MAKE A BACKUP FIRST!!! ![]()

I would love to put this in but don't really want to try the others at the moment. Can you tell me what I need to edit to get this?

just right click on the file and select to edit. then find they key change under that heading and delete the rest of the file (or copy and paste that section to a new file) and run it

Ok, I tried that but it didn't seem to make the changes. I attached the edited file so you can check if I made a mistake.

Just applied it on Server 2003 - for anyone wondering server 2003 = XP in terms of registry. It's XP with fewer bloated features

A few registry edits I could think of would be the hidden user names (having to hit CTRL+ALT+DELx2) and disabling pop up notifications.

You should make it a .cmd or .bat file with the choice of whether or not to do each registry entry. That way if someone did not want to do a certain one, they could just say no. LIke choice.com.
Show last username in logon window? [Y/N] then it applies it and goes to the next mod That would be kinda time consuming to make I am sure, but well worth it for the user-friendliness. ![]() Just my opinion on it. I am sure there would be a good reason not to do something like that.
