I can waiver for AP Computer Science to learn Java next year, but I am still thinking about it.
Should I take it? The teacher said that he only likes students who has honors math because they're able to hold the logic and stuff like that, but I'm a second track math student. Is Java hard? Is there math involved? How would I know how to write a program once I know a lot of the language?

You just would. It really is a lot of logic. I'm in AP CS Java right now and i'm not one of the top students, i'm taking the A instead of AB exam because i'm just not as good with some of the stuff. I can show you some of the code i've written for review if you want. I am in honors math and have always gotten As in my math classes. (I'm also in AP stats).
And there's not really math involved so much as there is logic which is easier for math people. Thinking of how to get around a problem is sometimes not the hard part, but implementing it in a computer language can be.

I didn't find Java to be that hard. We had to write a lot of programs, but as long as you stay on top of it and work together with classmates you can get so much more out of the class.
Personally, I prefer Java because it is easy to visualize (most assignments will be object-oriented style) and because it is relatively easy to debug.

I signed up for AP Computer Science, and Java is one of the languages. Nothing about Honors though...

Computer Science uses your math skills, but chances are for an AP Comp Sci class you won't need deep magic

The way most people see it is they either pick it up naturally or it just isn't compatible with them.

Have you done any java programming at all? If not, then definitely get started this summer and try to teach yourself the basic stuff.

I've heard Java is the easiest language to learn. Although I don't like most programs built on Java because they are resource hogs. I think it would be more valuable to learn a different language as not too many programs use Java and as I've said before, it's not really a good platform.
