Does anyone have DirectX 9 or 10 experience? I am contemplating writing a simple 3D stress test application. I have no experience with DX but have used OpenGL.

I have no real experience, and I'm sure you've heard of it, but I'd try out XNA Game Studio. It's built on the Visual Express series of IDE's. There are a ton of tutorials and resources for it. I'm looking into it now to make a spinning top game, but it seems to be a rather daunting task.
