nto sure if this is the rightplace for this, but here it is anyway,
i want to set up a .net website for my own small business of custom building computers, in this i want to display a form enabling the user to pick out the components for their system. can you guys point me in the right direction as on how to do this, any help much appreciated

If you mean ASP .NET then you'll want to take a look at Visual C# or Visual Basic. You'd use one of those to make a webapp using ASP .NET.
Assuming from your description that your customers aren't going to be paying through the website you could probably simply do this with HTML and have the form email you the customer's contact info and requested specs when they submit it. However if you are doing a full user login, database, webapp type thing ASP .NET with C# is my favorite toolset.

Why do you want to specifically do it in .NET?
