Which is the better GUI for a someone who's never done any GUI coding before (apart from VB, which doesn't count as the IDE couldn't hold your hand any more than it does) - PyQT or WxPython? Maybe even Tkinter, but I've heard bad things. I'm open to suggestions though! Compatibility with the Eclipse IDE would be a big plus point, but not at the expense of user-friendlyness of code, as I want to be able to read the code in a text editor, and actually be able to understand it!
Needs to be cross-platform (initially, I'll be targetting Windows, but will move to Linux apps after a while, and want to take my knowledge with me), and as such, easy packaging with Py2exe would be a god-send for deployment purposes (looking at py2exe though, most bases seem to be covered). It's a daunting road ahead - GUI programming is complex for the noob!

Bit of a bump here, but I've decided to try Tkinter for this project, as it's already built in. Plus, it seems to be quite easy, and doesn't look bad at all (it seems to use native dialogs and boxes?)

Try NetBeans, works great for me, and you can convert all your eclipse projects into NetBeans projects easily.
