Would anyone mind putting together a list of what to buy from where? Ideally they would ship to Canada (NOT UPS - they charge absorbent rates for customs brokerage) - BUT US shipping only could work if it's more advantageous to do so - although we would need to reship it and pay double the shipping.

Please take that into account

cases are for people who use cases!!!

Hey Admin, if you cant find a place to ship to Canada, then we could ship to my shop and I will ship to you N/C. That way we wont pay double for shipping.

Just off the top of my head, the RAM seems very high (even without rebates), and an optical drive for each system isn't necessary unless someone figures out a nifty way to use a Linux live disk and save the work on a flash drive, in which case keep the optical drive and replace the HDD with a small flash drive. As long as we go with a good quality PSU, we can go down to a 380 Watter (I have a 3.4 GHz quad with a WC setup on an EarthWatts 380 with no problems at all). Those suggestions should help to shave a few bucks off an already quality build list.

Thanks Mega for the list. Thanks Taeric for the feedback on prices. I will give the team 48 more hours to find better pricing/gear options - then I will move forward with the final list provided.

Thanks deskjockey for the offer of shipping to you. I think we may use that option. So please guys - do consider US vendors to purchase from.

See you in 48 hours

I understand where you're coming from on this one Live CD (stresslinux). A flash drive to save the work on would replace the HDD and if the system is left on 24/7 then there shouldn't be any problems. The PSU and RAM both could be downgraded.

Here is a revised list:
- Q6600
- Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L
- Asus 16x DVD-ROM
- Kingston DataTraveler 4GB ($18)
- Corsair XMS2 ($45)
- Silverstone Strider ST400 400W ($43)
- Any case
- Arctic Cooling Freezer 7

What size Flash Drive?

If we go with this list we are saving $67 between (RAM/PSU/HDD)

Hey guys

Do we have a final list of products/vendors?

I am getting a new KVMoverIP unit for the team to manage the computers. I will try to setup an IP Cam for the PS3s for fun
