We are looking to get 4 cards all at once, and we would like them to be the same cards. I can find deals on one card here, and one card there, but we need to find a deal on multiple cards.

Question, Can you mix manufacturers with the same series?

what about 8800gt and 9600gt? (same card right?) can you flash the 9600gt to the 8800gt?

I think we need a Folding Faq on this question.

I think you can use any card, just as long as they can accept the same drivers to power them, and yes mixing brands is perfectly doable.

I've also seen people with 8 series and 9 series cards together. works well for folding.

and gibson wants to jump on four cards at once, not get a card here and a card there.

Exactly sir. We are looking to buy everything at once. We can get everything except the cards from Newegg. Once we find a deal from one location to buy 4 cheap cards we will buy everything.

I can't find an 8800gs or the 9600gso equivalent anywhere for less than $75

Gibson post exactly which cards you want so I know. I know you want them for less than $50 but not sure which ones will be acceptable.
